I wish you health.
I wish you wealth
That passes  not with time.
I wish you long years.
May your heart be as patient as the earth
Your love as warm as the harvest gold.
May your days be full, as the city is full
Your nights as joyful as dancers.
May your arms be as welcoming as home.
May your faith be as enduring as God's love
Your spirit as valiant as your heritage.
May your hands be as sure as a friend
Your dreams as hopeful as a child.
May your soul be as brave as your people
And may you be blessed.

Wigglier Blessing
The Excellence of Love
1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I
have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of
prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all
faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3
And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my
body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is
not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is
not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not
rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things,
believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done
away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will
be done away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 10 but
when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. 11 When I was a
child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child;
when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 12 For now we see
in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I
will know fully just as I also have been fully known. 13 But now faith,
hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Secret O’ Life
by James Taylor

The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time
Any fool can do it
There ain't nothing to it
Nobody knows how we got to
The top of the hill
But since we're on our way down
We might as well enjoy the ride

The secret of love is in opening up your heart
It's okay to feel afraid
But don't let that stand in your way
'cause anyone knows that love is the only road
And since we're only here for a while
Might as well show some style
Give us a smile

Isn't it a lovely ride
Sliding down
Gliding down
Try not to try too hard
It's just a lovely ride

Now the thing about time is that time
Isn't really real
It's just your point of view
How does it feel for you
Einstein said he could never understand it all
Planets spinning through space
The smile upon your face
Welcome to the human race

Some kind of lovely ride
I'll be sliding down
I'll be gliding down
Try not to try too hard
It's just a lovely ride

Isn't it a lovely ride
Sliding down
Gliding down
Try not to try too hard
It's just a lovely ride

Now the secret of life is enjoying the passage of time
The World's Need
by Ella Wheeler Wilcox  (1850-1919)

So many gods
So many creeds,
So many paths that wind and wind
While just the art of being kind
is all this sad world needs.

I am the voice of the voiceless
Through me the mute shall speak
'til the deaf world's ear
be made to hear
the cry of the wordless weak.

From lab, from cage, from kennel,
from slaughterhouses, comes the wail
of my tortured kin
who proclaim the sin
of the mighty against the frail.

For love is the true religion
And love is the law sublime
And all that is wrought
where love is not
will die with the touch of time.

Oh, shame on the mothers of mortals
Who have not stopped to teach
of the sorrow that lies
in an animal's eyes;
the sorrow that has no speech.

The same power formed the sparrow
that fashioned man; the king
The god of the whole
gave a living soul
to furred and to feathered thing.

And I am my brother's keeper
And I will fight his fight
and speak the word
for beast and bird
til the world shall set things right.
Ella Wheeler Wilcox
"Animals are God's
creatures, not human
property, nor utilities, nor
resources, nor
commodities, but
precious beings in
God's sight. ...
Christians whose eyes
are fixed on the
awfulness of crucifixion
are in a special position
to understand the
awfulness of innocent
suffering. The Cross of
Christ is God's absolute
identification with the
weak, the powerless,
and the vulnerable, but
most of all with
unprotected,
undefended, innocent
suffering."

Muros y puertas

Desde que existe el Mundo
hay una cosa cierta
unos hacen los muros
y otros hacen las puertas,
pero eso mi amor,
creo que eso ya lo sabes.

Unos tienen invierno
y otros las primaveras
unos encuentran suerte,
pero otros ni siquiera,
pero eso mi amor,
creo que eso ya lo sabes.

Y siempre fue así
y eso tú lo sabes,
que la libertad solo existe
cuando no es de nadie.

De que sirve la luna
si no tienes la noche,
de que sirve un molino
sino quedan Quijotes,
pero eso mi amor,
creo que eso ya lo sabes.

Y mientras se confunde
la tierra con el cielo,
unos sueñan con Dios
y otros con el dinero,
pero eso mi amor,
es lo que se ve en la calle

Y siempre fue así
y eso tú lo sabes,
que la libertad solo existe
cuando no es de nadie.

Desde que existe el Mundo
hay una cosa cierta
unos hacen los muros
y otros las puertas.

Walls and Doors

As long as the world has existed
There is one thing for sure
Some build walls
And others build doors
But this my love
I think you already know this

Some have winter
and others have Springs
Some find luck
but others not even that
But this my love
I think you already know

And it's always been that way
And this you know
That freedom only exists
when no one owns it

What good is the moon
If you don't have the night
What good is a windmill
unless some Quijotes are left
But this my love
This, I think you already know

And while the land
Is confused with the sky
Some dream of God
and others of money
But this my love
Is what is seen on the street

And it has always been that way
And this, you know it
That freedom only exists
When no one owns it

As long as the world has existed
There is one thing for sure
Some build walls
And other build doors
