April in Paris! It couldn't be more perfect. The city is full of blossoms everywhere we walk. We went to the Eiffel Tower on Apr. 14th, and as we stopped to rest a moment under a tree near the Passarelle, a stiff breeze suddenly broke through the still air and lifted a storm of rose-colored petals from the blossoms on the tree above us. We were caught up in a swirling blizzard of pink petals!

17 April 2007 What a wonderful day! We took a picnic lunch to the Bois de Vincennes, a huge expanse of woods that borders the 12th Arrondissement. After a walk through the zoo, ( A lot of exhibits were being renovated.) we walked to the Parc Floral. It is enormous and exploding in color. We encountered displays of every plant imaginable --flowering trees, bulbs, herb gardens, bonsai gardens, etc. There was a butterfly pavillion (closed till May), puppet theater, 2 restaurants, lake and a lot more. Before we returned via the metro, we took some time to walk around the Chateau de Vincennes. Wow! We're going to return with the big camera and take more pictures. The chateau and the Ste. Chapelle have been renovated and are due to reopen in June.

Sunday, April 29, 2007 Today we strolled through a very unusual residential section of Paris, just down from our apartment building . Many of the buildings are only two-stories and some are only one story! Later in the day, we went to a music rehearsal followed by a party. While we were at the party, Paris had its first big rain storm for April 2007. At the end of the party, we walked back to the apartment on freshly washed streets and sidewalks.
